Tim Woodard

Tim is an agriculturist with eight years experience working on farms.  He is an expert on urban edible gardens and mastering the art of backyard organic food production.

Tim moved from the open spaces of rural WA to the urban metropolis of Perth in 2003. With him came a wealth of knowledge and a driving passion to make an organic difference to the eating habits of city folk.  The idea of Your Patch Organic started to grow.Tim began with a borrowed wheelbarrow to complete his first job, a vegetable garden installation in Hamilton Hill and that’s when Your Patch Organic came to life.

His friendly and down-to-earth nature makes him a favourite with clients. His passion for organic vegetable gardens is infectious and his generosity in sharing his knowledge has been appreciated by many.

The brilliant simplicity of growing organic vegetables in your own space has attracted media interest with Tim appearing on:

  • Channel 7’s Today Tonight,

  • The West Australian,

  • The Sunday Times and on

  • Sabrina Hahn’s gardening program on 720 ABC Perth.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

“Thank you for the wonderful service that Your Patch Organic offers.  Our daycare center has had your organic vegetable patches for three years.  During this time not only have the children enjoyed delicious vegetables in their meals, but they have also had the opportunity to connect with nature and explore many mathematical and scientific concepts. The children (and staff) enjoy watching the vegetables grow and harvesting them, often eating the carrots straight out of the ground. Having your company maintain the patches has been invaluable as we are often very busy, and some of us have limited gardening know how. Thanks to your fortnightly service and helpful suggestions we are guaranteed a successful harvest each season.”

— Chantal Robson | Padbury Education and Child Care Centre

“The Neurological Council of WA (NCWA) would like to express its gratitude for the wonderful service Your Patch Organic has delivered with the construction of the organic garden. Tim Woodard has provided ongoing support and training to the clients of the NCWA and is considered a much valued asset we look forward to working further with Your Patch in the future.”

— Helen Povey | Consumer Colleague, Neurological Council of Western Australia (Shenton Park Hospital)

"In 2007 we began our School Canteen as a Healthy Eating Canteen. This year we initiated the edible garden. Rather than having to purchase extra fruit and vegies each week to ensure that all children have access to Crunch and Sip time each day, we have been able to access the fruit and vegies from the garden. Different groups are involved in harvesting the food and assisting with keeping down the weeds. The area is fertilised with compost from the compost bin and bokashi bins, so links with our sustainable practises and we are connecting the water tanks to the retic to water the garden. The garden was completely set up for us and maintained by Tim from Your Patch. He is very reliable, friendly and helpful.  It has been a most successful venture for us in a number of ways.”

— Banksia Grove Primary School

“Great garden, great veges, great people!!!

Have been really impressed with the knowledge, enthusiasm and diligence of Your Patch on every level. Most of all, we love our home grown vegetables.

Your Patch came highly recommended by a neighbour, we have been very satisfied. Thank you.”

— Julie | Cottesloe

“I’d like to thank Tim and all the staff at Your Patch Organic for setting up and maintaining my beautiful vege garden.  I’ve never had better tasting or fresher veges and it has cut down my food shopping bill as I never buy veges anymore.  I’ve been able to learn a lot about growing premium quality organic produce from you guys. My neighbours also agree with me as the garden has been so productive, and I have been able to share out the extra veges that are grown.

Thanks for everything and your continued service.”

— Rod Lockyer | Ballajura

“Brightwater had tried several raised vegetable gardens on our residential sites before we approached Your Patch Organics, and though they always started well

they inevitably failed because the upkeep fell to already busy individual staff.

Tim’s approach of providing fortnightly maintenance that is tailored to exactly how much or how little support a site requires has solved this problem, and the result

is a flourishing vegie garden, and residents and staff who are excited to participate in the growing of their own produce. Tim’s enthusiasm is infectious and his knowledge about what to grow and how to grow it is amazing.

Residents and staff alike are loving the experience!”
